Fitted a V8 in the elise this weekend

Post by Blaque » Mon Sep 18, 2006 9:46 am

Not really, obvously. But I did manage to put a hurricane in at the weekend. (I should have been a gynocologist :) ).

Is it supposed to be that loud? Nice and quiet running along, but push the pedal (which I don't do any more. see http://www.scottishelises.com/phpbb/vie ... php?t=3666  ) and it sounds like a badly tuned V8.

Is it fitted right, the pipe from the air box to the throttle body seamed a lot wider, could it be sucking air in at the throttle boby. The instructions said to be carefull and not over tighten the jubilee clip.

Should be airtight all the way around, the pipe should be a reasonable fit around the intake, if it isnt then wrap some PVCelectrical tape around it until it is. As it says overtightening the jubilee clip can cause the throttle to stick open if you have a plastic TB.
