Was that just a seal job? Elaine's needed rods and we just swapped out the springs as well for peace of mind. Perhaps if jimbos are proper f*cked, that accounts for the near £500 bill for two?

That included new rods for mine. Two had emptied all their oil by the time I sent them off.

My understanding, acquired from someone who understood such things very well from sprinting and hill climbing, is that the Bilstein is a much more refined damper than most, in terms of design and operation.

Can testify to this having run Konis, then Spax, and now on 2nd set of Bilsteins (next time I will be getting them rebuilt!)

This is based on road use with the occasional track day.
