What could completely cut the ignition ie spark and fuel but still allowing the starter motor run correctly?
The car just lost power as I was driving along and and wouldn't restart.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Steven

Re: More S1 electrics issues
Losing power to the MEMS ECU would do this. What happened to the rev counter when the engine cut out - did it fall like a stone to 0 or did it fall in line with the dying engine revs? Similarly, what happens when you're cranking - do you see a small increase in revs while cranking that falls to zero, or does it stay at zero all the time?
The MFRU is a possible problem here, as is wiring of the battery -> ECU feed (depends on vintage of S1 as to how this works).
Cheers,
Robin
