Technical Advice (for the non-technical)- No.1: Parking
Problem I have is that it detaches at regular intervals. I've tried a variety of household sticky substances (steady) to keep it there. Seems like the plumbing fitting is just a little too loose (FTLoG...)Baggy wrote:my s1 drain hole blocked up, I only noticed that water was pooling all over the back of the car....... poke it with a stick periodically now, keeps it sorted.
Methinks I'll have to dig that tube of No More Nails out.....

Yup - half the liz is held together with it. TBH, I've just been too fecking lazy to do it properly - need to get a tube for myself anyway, 'cos my top rad grills need painted and they are bonded in.....tadltd wrote:Use Sikaflex.
You'll get it in any Partco, or if you're struggling I can offer a small squirt from my tube (steady!) if you bring the car over. We use it to bond the ally panels to the LMP - very strong and waterproof.

Anyone know about boot drainage on a 52 plate S2?
I lifted the carpets, and foam rubber layer from my boot at the weekend, and found a puddle underneath.
Not sure if the rain has come in via the vented area of the bootlid, or simply into the gap between lid and body.
Don't see any evidence of potential drainage points, so presumably once the water is in the boot, it will remain there.
Did consider drilling a few holes, but when I press down on the bottom of the boot cavity I can feel the surface pressing against something else after a few mm, so don't want to go gung-ho with the drill.

Never had any problems with water getting into my boot. Is the lid sitting in tightly?scottydog wrote:Did consider drilling a few holes, but when I press down on the bottom of the boot cavity I can feel the surface pressing against something else after a few mm, so don't want to go gung-ho with the drill.
As far as I know all that is below the boot floor is the exhaust back box.
