Jenvey ITB's and fitting to a S1

Post by les » Mon Nov 03, 2014 2:36 pm

Since the headwork and cams were replace and timed, my S1 hasn't been too well behaved in slow moving traffic. Dave Walker @ Emerald suggested that d2htb's should help resolve the issues (mainly the stuttering) at low rpms. I've managed to pick up a set from seloc but it turns out that they are from an S2 Sport 190 not the S1 I was lead to believe. Is it possible to change over the fuel rail and injectors from my current manifold and install in the new TB manifold and still fit the Bernard Scouse airbox?? OR am I better to live and learn and resell the TB's and pick up a more standard dual body jenvey TB? Would that make installation easier?

Any thoughts/opinions greatly appreciated :)

You can keep the whole thing if you have an emerald? If not then I am not sure how you would make it work anyway?

If you have an emerald you just need to rescale the fuelling to convert fuel map for old injectors to fuel map for new injectors. Of course that assumes you know the difference between the injector fuel flow rates (google might find that for you). I also believe you can simply transplant your S1 injectors to this manifold.

Do you have the airbox and throttle linkage?

Cheers,
Robin

thanks for your reply Robin. Bought a second hand emerald k3 back in June and managed to get enough brownie points with Rosie and the kids to go down to Emerald for the mapping :). Maidstone sent up the airbox, trumpets (50mm). I was hoping to email and see if I could purchase the rest of Bernard's kit including the throttle cable bracket. Like most things I'm feeling that I've bitten off more than I can chew at the moment :)

So Bernard is supplying me the rest of the parts that were missing with the TB's. Not an issue really as the airbox was sent up foc with the throttle bodies so it saved me a lot of extra cost :) including the throttle cable bracket. I'm hoping that the throttle cable will be able to drop down over the top of the engine as it looks far simpler to route

It is - just be careful of the angle of the cable outer, versus the inner. Should be fine, but in my old TB setup, because there was clearance issues with the VVC head and the initial mount I used, the angle the inner cable rubbed the outer cable was reasonably sharp - snapping a couple of throttle cables, until I ponied up for the Jenvey setup. But if the outer is stood off far enough from the throttle quadrant, it shouldn't be an issue.
