Evora Driver door won't open

Post by Jordan » Fri Nov 13, 2015 4:00 pm

Got out the car this morning when i tried to shut the door it was just bouncing of the catch as if it wasnt catching, had to do it a few times before door would shut, went out to shops same again, locked the doors while i was inside by mistake, unlocked them went to get out driver door and it wouldn't open, so i had the embarrassment of climbing out the passenger door, has anyone had this problem ? or know what it could be :cheers

Sounds like your striker pin needs adjusting.

Steve is this a time consuming job ? I'm guessing door card/panel will need to be taken off from inside as the driver door won't open at all

Not sure Jordan, as it happened a few years ago with my S2 111s.

Does this help?

I think it's unlikely that the striker would suddenly go out of adjustment, probably a fault in the latch mechanism or its connection to the interior/ exterior handles. It's a bit caveman but I would try banging the door externally around the latch position while someone operates the internal release, sometimes it works if the mechanism is stuck or jammed somehow. When it's open use a screwdriver to flick the latch fully closed then see if it unlatches with the internal and external handles to see which is or isn't working.
