Toyota Gearbox oil Change
Toyota Gearbox oil Change
Looking to change out the gearbox oil on my 111R tomorrow for the first time since I got it.
Have noticed the gearbox filler plug is in an awkward position and unsure of the best method to get the new oil in.
Is it possible to feed a pipe past the engine and into the hole? or any other suggestions?

Remember doing it that way yep, length of tube and funnel.
I poured from the top and 'assistant' held pipe in place and checked fill level.

If you do not have a spare pair of hands use either a very large syringe or attach a tube to the top of the gearbox oil bottle and squeeze it in from below. Mind it does not splash back in face once full:-(

What's the recommended oil? 75/90 gear oil? Synthetic or semi?
Re: Toyota Gearbox oil Change
Tech wiki seems to suggest 75/90 fully synthetic gear oil.

Re: Toyota Gearbox oil Change
There was landrover oil that makes the change a lot better, don't remember off the top of my head which oil specifically but Ali always used it back in the day to make the yota box smoother.... Someone on here must know or remember having it put in their box??
