Heater - not heating (much)

Post by Tim S » Wed May 25, 2016 8:50 pm

Evening all

Advice please re heaters (in an S2 111S).

My heater's just not heating very much any more. Everything still works (the blower fan is fine, and the temp control will regulate the air temp) - just the hottest setting isn't very hot any more. The engine temp reading is normal and there's no noticeable loss of coolant

I did remove the matrix to change the blower resistor pack a couple of years ago, and maybe the heater's never been that great since. Does the heater matrix airlock? If so, can the air be removed?

Or might it be something else??

Thanks

Tim

I would guess an airlock or blockage in the matrix. You can try to remove one of the hoses, having clamped it perhaps, and slowly fill the matrix with coolant. Repeat with the other hose. There will always be a bit or air in there, but it should find its way around to the expansion tank.

Cheers,
Robin

Hi Robin

Thanks for that - I'll give it a try.

Cheers
