First decent run out on Saturday, Kelso on the A68. Got back above smashed to pieces. Can the light fitting be changed with the clam in place?
Had a go at removing the threaded nylon screws, first one sheered off. Not a good start.
Been looking at Perspex covers, now I know why they are needed!
S1 Driving Lights / Replacement
I am sure someone will be along to advise shortly. In the meantime I seem to recall a quick and dirty fix is to silicon a perspex cover over the old lamp.

Just about to bollock you for not heeding tuts words of wisdom, when I saw that it smashed even with the lens cover on.
That really is a bugger, and shows the force of thrown up stones on road runs.
Presume you have heeded my first Commandment and have taken out AA Parts and Labour cover?
tut
ps for those of you with S1's and no headlamp covers, it is worthwhile cutting out a plastic circle and just temporarily sticking them on for road runs. I forgot to do it a few months ago and both were smashed. Fitted new ones and put protection on before I even moved it.
