Distributor rotor spindle drive removal ...

Post by robin » Sun Oct 29, 2006 1:02 pm

Anyone know how to get these out of a (fitted) camshaft - do I need some puller contraption or what?

Cheers,
Robin

Erm I don't think you will....

I tried it with an uninstalled camshaft and it was impossible as the rubber bit just absorbs all the force. I would imagine the best way would be to destroy the rubber and carefully tap the outer housing until is wasn't round and you could pull it out. Why what is wrong with it?

OK, I think I'll just leave it in there then ... maybe resort to auto-lathing ;-)

Angle grinder vs ali head... Not what I would choose....! Just start the engine and hold the hacksaw to the stub, it'll come off eventually, that or maim you hideously....
