Manual tensioner ...

Post by robin » Sat Nov 04, 2006 5:19 pm

My new head is fitted with manual tensioner. I bought a brand new Rover part as well as matching belt. barsteward thing hasn't come with the spring and pillar bolt that you use to tension the tensioner as it were.

Anyone got a spare they could lend me this weekend, or some top tips on alternate method for setting tension properly?

Cheers,
Robin

i dont think mines did either. FD will know what he did. I am pretty sure it involved the position of the moon in relation to the number of stickers on my car at that current time.

Have boshed it together for now - it's tight enough not to come apart and the belt won't flap ... I'll get a new spring later this week and retension then - I'm pretty sure it won't kill it to run with the wrong tension for a while ...

Cheers,
Robin
