Coming back from Killin I had to jump on the anchors when some Eejit pulled out right in front of me.
When I tried accelerating again, there was no power and the MIL light was on. I limped to Doune where I could stop. The revs were all over the place, so I switched the engine off, left it a couple of minutes then started up again. All felt well, but the light was still in. I got to East Kilbride, sticking to 60 on motorway, then exactly the same thing happened again.
I'm still in EK contemplating the drive back to Auld Reikie along the M8
Any ideas what's causing it and am I safe to drive?

Afraid I can’t help with what’s wrong, but welcome to leave it at mine in EK If needed.

(that's why I think Mike will do fine, that and his lack of imagination).

I’d say coil pack problems.... probably goes into limp mode under heavy load/ high revs.
