V6 Dash removal

Post by Kinger » Sun Jun 07, 2020 6:54 pm

I've got an irritating rattle / vibration from behind the dash at the bottom of the windscreen drivers side. It goes away if I push the top of the screen outwards and I don't have the noise if I have the hard top on.

I've looked at the De Roure drawings but can't see anything which shows how the dash or how its secured, any advice on dash removal appreciated.

Cheers

Sorry mate, don’t have a clue how to dismantle the dashboard on the V6.

Remove the passenger and driver side A post trim, PAB cover, steering wheel cowl and clock binnacle. That exposes the screws for the facia to remove the fascia top panel.
PM me your email, I have the service notes for the Exige V6 which I can email you.

This sounds like a never ending job. Get rid of one rattle and introduce a few new ones

Can't help with the V6, but when I got my wee Cooper S it had the most annoying rattle that I couldn't tell exactly where it was coming from. Spent a morning taking the dash to bits, removing the big speedo, rev counter, heater, radio/CD, vents etc. Hundreds of little screws.

When I drove it with almost just the steering column left, the rattle was still there!. Couldn't trace it at all, so after some cursing put it all back together.

Then a few days later I stumbled across this 40 second clip on Youtube  Problem solved! :damnfunny

Did you manage to get the dash panel removed and fix the problem?
