Rusted hub carrier

Hi to all,

I've had several other cars (Austin (an uggly metro :mrgreen: ), AlfaRoméo, Porsche, ...) but i've never seen that on a hub carrier :

I scratched / grinded the rust and use a rust converter + black paint.

Have you ever seen that on your cars ?

Probably salted roads in Scotland ?

Yeah, salted roads in Scotland. Looks pretty standard for an old cast iron hub.

Nothing unusual there, pretty much all of them end up like that eventually.

They all seem to get pretty nasty up here, these were the ones going onto my car before and after a bit of electrolysis cleaning
