Yup. Prize open from the end that has the wee rubber dangly thing hanging out of it, using a thin knife or summat similar. It will just pop open. Remove battery. Replace with new battery, bought from hardware store for about £2. You'll need to check the number on the old battery to make sure you buy the right one. :thumbsup

Keys are off an Astra/Nova (Along with the locks  high security!)

Fobs (Flobs?) are about £45 but I don't know about programming them as my little override fob thing doesn't work for me (I even have 2 for some reason)

Apparently a Cobra dealer will have a Jolly programmer (Whatever that is) and can do it for a fee.

Watch out when changing batterys it's easy to get them the wrong way round as the batts sometimes have the coloured band at the other end (AS I found out while panicing that the alarm wouldn't work....Image)

Any thoughts on the normal range of the blippy thing? I have to wave it in the general direction of the windscreen and after usually a few attempts it works. Doesnt work AT ALL unless you are standing right next to the car unlike my wifes blippy thing for her car which can operate up to about 100 yards away.

I think it's a case of TADTS.

Mine's not too bad . . . a few yards away if I'm lucky, but generally quite close to the car. Don't know if changing the battery might help?

Any vaxhall then, the locks are boot locks as it happens...

The range is pants, but hold it against your head adn the range will increase by 300% as your head acts as an antenna (Disclaimer: I am not responsible for you looking like a tit or getting any horrible disease or condition fomr this practice!)

Ross,
As Rich says, standard VX key and I have a spare fob if you need one in a hurry.
