Driver Seat

Post by craigs135s » Wed Nov 22, 2006 11:16 am

When i test drove my car on sunday there was i bit of movement in the driver seat i ask that to be fixed. I have spoke to the garage this morning and thay say all the bolts are tight. Any ideas why it would still have movement in it?

Cheers

TADTS

They wobble a bit, it's a feature of the crappy design.

Just check the bolts periodically mine keep working loose!

Depends how much it wobbles; they all wobble a bit. The frame can crack and this gives you quite a lot more wobble!

Cheers,

The runners can develop play - mine is crappy unless it's slammed in place and it can be a right PIA to get it solid again if you move the seat.

Mine is a bit wobbly, but I was just told TADTS. I have to move it back every time I get in or out, as otherwise my fat ass wouldn't fit in the car!

The runner mechs themselves have a bit of play in them. Probably ex-AX, I'm sure you could pick up some fresh ones if we can track down the origin. I find that most clicks are tight but a couple are a bit wobbly...just experiment, or shove a jersey down the back like I think Robin used to do ;-)

Ah, not quite yet. Still trying to sell on their pristine Toyota Hilux truck, sadly. Last punter said "bodywork not as good as I wanted" - the thing is spotless, considering it's essentially an agricultural vehicle!

Has looked at a few examples though and knowledge is building well. Watch this space.

Well done on your new mota, btw.

We sell a fantastic washer product from NordLock that will stop your bolts from working loose. They come in pairs and work through the brilliance of a simple piece of geometry - see http://www.nordlock.com. They're ideal for anywhere that suffers from vibration problems i.e. all over a Lotus!

I'll sell them in any quantity that you want and send them out in the post. They come in steel or stainless steel. Just PM me if you're interested in them and I'll sort you out with a good deal of course  .

I'd like to try some of those 6mm and 8mm, maybe 10mm and one huge one to look at :)
Are they assembled from loose pairs?

I'll do this by PM to save thread overload.

They have a light glue to keep the pairs together for easier application.

Are they SS? Any problems with galvanic corrosion?

Interested in a handful either way...
