s2 exige - lumpy idle...

Post by ed » Tue Dec 05, 2006 12:10 pm

Forgot to mention Mikes woes with his s2 exige at KH on Sun . It cut out at the hairpin and had to be towed back in. It would fire with a lumpy idle but then when he touched the accelerator it died. Anyone come across this before?!:?

I think the early 04 cars had this problem and it is an ECU issue. They replace the A spec ecu with a B spec one.

edited to add - I obviously dont know if his car is an 04 or not but thats all I have ever read about.

I went to to MMC to get a few things sorted before my car (04 a-spec ecu) ran out of warranty. One of the issues was a rough idle and I asked to get the ECU reflashed as I'd heard there was a fix for this. When I picked up the car, they said my ECU couldn't be reflashed so that was that, no mention of replacing it with the newer B spec. Should this have been done on warranty? If so, my warranty has now expired but should I still contact Lotus and explain the situation as I raised the issue while the car was still in warranty?
