Just got a courtesy call from Lotus Customer Care yesterday asking whether I had tried the original key in the fuel filler cap.

Unfortunately away on business so have not tried it out yet.

Must admit that I am very impressed with Lotus Customer Care, they even said that due to xmas holiday it would probably be next year till I got something sorted if the key did not work (which I presumed anyway).

If this is the Lotus improved service then long may it continue.

sounded like a cheapo excuse to me!

locks - its not exactly rocket science!

ive had several replaced on my first astra coz scum kept using screwdrivers to open them! all used the same key (not sure how, but the locksmith sorted it somehow! :S)

Phil,

Agree that it should have been done correct in the 1st place (but not Lotus's fault for that one). However when you actually get a follow up call from customer care, it has to be applauded. Especially when in the past they had such a bad rep. As long as the service improves (and this is an improvement from what I have had previously) i am a lot happier.

Cheers
