Balljoints
Balljoints
Robin, you mentioned balljoints wiht regards to bertie, im havin all my suspension shot blasted so was going to replace the balljoints at the same time (two have a small amount of play). Are they simply pressed in? Theres two holes in the side of the joint and wondered if this was punched or something.
Also Ive got a mesh pipercross filter for the honda, its inlet is 80mm and the throttle bodie is around 76mm. Aybody know where I can get a silicon tube to link them together?
As regards the honda, its comingon quite slowly, any machinists in the aberdeen area want to give me a shout?, im having problems with two fittings on a 32 mm pipe. Basically I need a ten inch 32mm pipe with two threaded collets welded on the outside. One has to be 3/8 BSP and the other 1/2 BSF I think. Anybody in the know regarding strange threads let me know cheers Craig.

Hi Craig
I could make up the parts if you could get them welded?
There is a welder local to me who could weld it all up as well?
Ball joints just press out and in,they are tight and will need a 5 tonne + press,or the special tool,of which there are a few about,I have made 3 or 4 of them, but dont have any at the moment.

With regards to the ball joints, I bought one of these from eliseparts Ball Joint Removal Tool (clicky) it made the job a lot easier. Mind you, this was with the wishbones in place, I am sure that it will be a lot easier with them of the car.
