Which Pagids?

Post by Novice Racer » Fri Apr 06, 2007 10:42 am

2002 S2, looking to upgrade pads for road and some track use this summer.

Want Pagids but unsure whether to go for the RS 4-2 or RS14.

Suggestions?

RS4-2. Work fine from cold and need only slight warming to be brilliant.

RS1-4 are poorer from cold and need roasted to work right.

For your needs - v similar to mine - RS4-2 is the way.

Others will come along and mention other manufacturers too, though. But I've been a Pagid fan for 6 years :-)

Hi NR

Go for the 4-2's.

They were awesome on my 111r - RS14's are more suited to heavy track use.

You can get 95% the same performance from a set of SBS pro which are a fair bit cheaper (and come in a nice fetching bronze to boot).

If the only track you plan on driving is KH, then I would go for the SBS (I have them on EGOR (courtesy of Gareth)) and I think they're pretty good, and they get better when hot.

But I think they fade a bit under really high speed braking (not an issue at KH, but noticed it at Spa (130+mph braking down to about 60) - though that could also be a fluid problem, so cannot be sure.

Anyway, I bought two complete sets of RS4-2s in the last group buy, so that's what I will be fitting for the next year or two :-)

Cheers,
Robin

42's for the road and occasional trackday.

14's are overkill unless you run sticky tyres on track.
