More on dampers..
Just about to replace the front dampers. Anyone in the west/glasgow-ish got spring compressors I could scrounge for a couple of days?

I borrowed a set many years back, not quite the same as those, and what you need to watch is that they hook properly because the springs are so narrow and run so close to damper body on the Elise.
I think for the price of a few pints, a local garage would do the swap if you handed the bits in to them? Darn sight safer too, I was bricking it all the way through doing mine!!!

Robin aint got none either - if the Jedi aint got them, its unlikely anyone else will
TBH I was surprised that the Bilstiens don't have an adjustable threaded platform .. the rear shocks on my DH nike had them, allowing you to unscrew the platform (winding off the pre-load) and to swap the springs no bother. I guess there's too much scope for the preload being 'wound off' as you drive.

Local garage going to swap em for a tenner- fair price!
I'd probably only bring down passing aircraft if I try it anyway.
Thanks for the advice everyone

The LSS suspension kits have adjustable platforms. So do Spax (which I'm running just now although they are getting a bit tired I think).GregR wrote:Robin aint got none either - if the Jedi aint got them, its unlikely anyone else will![]()

Steve Butts provides multiple ride heights by supplying varying mounting brackets and, in extreme cases, VX220 front springs.
But you probably knew all that didn't you
And I see that for a tenner the local garage is doing the swap anyway...far more sensible, and safe
