Post by r10crw » Fri May 11, 2007 9:29 am

Im away to order a setof these but wondering, whats the maximumm width of tyre I can get on the rear without a detrimental effect on the dry road handling of the car? Im currently on 225/45 rears, anyone gone 245. Dont even know if these sizes are available so probably wasting time.

16 inch goes:

205/55Z W rated

215/50Z W rated

225/50Z W rated

225/45Z W rated.

so 225 width is your maximum

When I enquired about R888s with MANY tyre dealers/agents I was told there are none in the country and that they are on back order until the end of May. Demon Tweeks offered me 48s for the same price as R888s (after some haggling)

That was for my Saxo hillclimb car but I was told there were no R888s at all - regardless of size.
