I have known Phil for years (outside of his tyre place as well as using him for servicing and tyres) and find that surprising.

I suppose every place has its ups and downs but the service I get is always first class as are the prices.

They're 5 mins walk from my house . . . when are you getting it done? If you need to kill some time while they're doing the work and I'm around you can pop up for a cuppa.

Must say found Phill himself really helpful. Some of the fitters were a little bit, well, haphazard. Was late on a friday afternoon right enough.

Must remember Dezzy's coffee shop is nearby 8)

i agre that phil himself is a personable helpful bloke and his prices are competitive.

Its just that I now have a SL320 which is less than a year old and only has 6k miles on it with rear alloy that has tool marks all round the outside of the rim. Detracts from the car every time i see it and reminds me of Colins tyres. ML rim is similar but not so noticable since the tyres are significantly bigger.

It may have not been him who did the work, but someone did, and that reflects on his business.

change of subject I noticed the yellow s1 that stays in elderslie has a busted rear clam !!!

I noticed that too when driving to work yesterday. Had a wave from the guy a while back. He's only recently taken off his hardtop . . . just in time for the rain. :scratch It looked pretty manky at the back where it's cracked, so think he might have had an off on a country road. Hope he gets it sorted and there were no injuries!

Speaking of Elises in Elderslie . . . guy round the corner from my house has taken his grey S1 out of the garage for about the 1st time this year. I *never* see him using it. Think I'll go say hello and tell him about the forum. Maybe a few road runs will tempt him to use it a bit more!

Bloke at the autotest said he had to pull a Norfolk Mustard S1 out of a field just past Lugton - driver was an older gent in business suit etc.

Appaertly both front & rear clams were quite badly damaged as it cleared a ditch and was a good 30 yards into the field.

Sounds like the guy on Elderslie main road . . . I'm sure he's an older gent.
