MIL Light ON

Post by MacK » Sat May 26, 2007 11:18 am

My MIL light lit up last night, with no apparant problems.

Does anyone have a code reader so I can check it, or will I just go to 'any' garage and get it checked?

Thanks again Lawrence for helping me out, light has not come on again, and no problems.

Hope you got on okay at Kames and the camber and toe were okay.

3 codes showed up, I think they were;

P0304, misfire cylinder 4
P1301, misfire, causeing emmissions increase
P0340, Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction

On the way back from Oulton last weekend I noticed a missfire/splutter when accelarating under load or in higher revs 5000+, no lights came on and the car worked fine when at steady speeds on the motorway.

Last week I had a quick check on a couple of plugs and found the HT lead to number 4 (nearest gearbox?) was loose, I checked the plug looked okay and refitted it all, took it for a quick blast and everything was fine, no misfire.
Then on Friday night after about 1/2 mile the MIL light came on for no 'new' reason. and since clearing the fault codes there has been no misfires or re-appearnace of the light in 60+ miles.
