Oh dash!
I was thinking it would be an "easy option" in truth its my head that is jiggered HGF and I was thinking new engine would be easier than popping the head off, Electrics are not my thing I'm colourblind for starters

Head swap is not that much work. Less than a loom change!
What went on the HG? How bad is the head and how gloopy is the oil? Remember that every rover in the world since about 1990 has the same head fitted to it, and rotten rovers are pretty common too!
The head on mine was £30 delivered from e-bay off a 1.4 metro
Save your cash and spunk it on headwork or cams or both! DVA does a package with maxed headwork but on std cams ripe for future upgrades (kit 13a if memory serves)

Nizzy,
You need to listen to Robin, he knows his stuff. A 135 head will be much more painless, he helped me [ie did most of the difficult stuff!] change my head to something "similar" to a 135, so I know what's involved and that's a lot less than the EU3 engine change into an S1. I love my Sabrespec.
VVC? Pah...

The Flip paint Job belongs to Albi (methinks)
there is a black S2
Not seen that.and a red S2 with white stripe at the top of the town.(same street)
ExigeKen owns half of those.A silver S1 in stewarton as well as a red exige (S2)
Mine in Azure Blue (only thing of note is my electic boot switch(own design) and a Yellow S2 met the bloke is Asda Carpark he was on way to Cinema
There's also a sky blue S2 round the corner from me that belongs to a guy I work with and one of his pals was around last week in another flip paint job S2. Essentially they are now common as muck, I can remember small boys falling off bikes when we drove past in our first one 7 or so years ago...
