Nice of you to say DJ. It was Alan (Tenkfeet) who did most of the work on my car and then went on to pioneer the 'through the service panel' method on his own car.

Did you order the modification kit from Lotus or are you just going to replace it again in a few years?

Alan (Tenkfeet) does indeed seem to be some kind of Elise rebuilding pioneer :lol: . It was his self educated rear clam removal that made me attempt mine a few months ago with a few PMs shared between us to help.
Same as you - just replacing the resistor, smoothering it with vaseline/grease/silicone and going to make the small drainage hole that is recommended. This one has lasted 6 years without the grease/drainage hole and if the repalcement lasts that long it will have done it's job.

Interestingly it looks like Lotus are running down their supply of resistors and it will just be the full modification kit that will be avaiable in the future.
