I am a bit unsure Craig. At first on the road they felt far better then Greens or Reds, but there were times on track, particularly at the Hairpin, where they were not slowing me down in time, and I really had to put the pressure on.

It could be that with the S/C Honda I am committed to Pagids, and of course I do not have Yellows on the rear, they are MMC's.

I think that for anyone with a Showroom car, they will be fine, and at their price certainly worth trying as an alternative to Pagids. Certainly use them instead of Greens or Reds.

Interested to hear how those with 118 to 220 hp cars go on.

I'm interested in why no-one seems to like Green Stuff?

I've got them on mine all round, and found I could have been braking a lot later than most other Loti at my first tracknight on the 6th June.

Since done Knockhill again and getting more and more confident that they will keep working. They're fine from cold, and seem to give more braking for the Hairpin (and Duffus) than I ever get much opportunity to use with other people around ;)

Green stuff fade really badly with fair amount of abuse as they dont like a lot of heat.
I wouldnt use other peoples braking points to judge how good your pads are!

They are good for keeping brake dust down though.

what's the difference in pattern & performance between turbo-grooves and the ultimax discs? EBC site said ultimax are designed for quieter breaking (less whirr from the grooves i think) & they are plated to stop corrosion. JRT had them at the same price as the turbo-grooves so in the end i went for them.

Ultimax have smaller grooves and a different pattern, and they have no dimples.

They are also black powder coated, so that the unswept areas do not rust.

Are they better than the Turbo Grooves? Probably not, just different. As they cost the same I would go for them, as I did.

I've got a bit of a dilema. My new discs arrived but they're Turbo-Groove & not Ultimax. I went for Ultimax over TG's because they had the corrosion resistant coating. do I;

a) Return them & get what i ordered.
or
b) keep the turbo-groove discs & ask for a discount on future orders. (maybe braided brake hoses??)
or
c) who cares. they are a comparable product at the same price.

If I bought a product because it had a corrosion coating and got a product without a corrosion coating, I'd without a shadow of a doubt expect the seller to pay for recollection and delivery of the correct item. Pretty simple in my book...

I wouldn't be all that fussed... but then again I did go for the TG's over Ultimax through choice.
They will soon be powder coated (or coated in dust anyway  ) whilst you are getting through that 'brake-in' coating.

I would be inclined to expect what I ordered, as long as they agreed to pay return postage.

TGs also have a coating on them that prevents rust on the unswept part and seems to have lasted pretty well on mine. It will however be removed if you use Wonder Wheels or other slightly corrosive cleaner. I stopped using this when I got my wheels powder coated and before I put the TGs on.

I changed to Mintex pads from greens and can't say I see much difference. That said, I never had anything near a fade on FF7 and that was some pretty hard braking stuff in the heat at Ledenon (with the mintex). The Toyos went off before the brakes became an issue.

You're meant to wipe that coating off the TG's before you install/use them. White Spirit or similar... I believe it can knacker the pad surface if you don't. I gave them a cursory wipe with white spirit but didn't spend too long at it.
