You can have my coolant for free - if you can separate it from the oil?
It's sitting round from your office - dead.
Saw it last night on my way home from work (Fitzroy Place), taking the shortcut to miss traffic. :D

Got the head back from Dan :cheers , just a case of putting it all back together now along with the 192 ecu and pulleys.
Dan tells me that someone has done some headwork on it previously, which is nice.
All 16 shims were out which was maing it kind of clattery, cant wait to fire it up and have nice lumpy idle without clack clack clack clack

I'd have thought proper verniers and an Emerald would have been better - not heard very complimentary things about the fixed pulleys and factory ecu upgrade... Unless of course, you did a Kelly and got them for 20 bob and a couple of Beanos

I have not read any real "bad" chat about that option if you know what I mean, just that verniers and Emerald are way better - my S1 ran nicely with the factory 190 stuff but then I have not driven an S1 Exige thats had the £1k emerald and all that done.

Aye - poor wording. It's just supposed to overfuel, the map isn't great and the concept of a one-size-fits-all map & pulley setup on an essentially handbuilt engine is fundamentally wrong. Not quite a K for an Emerald either! £580 + the vat, plus £179 + the vat for the verniers - all at tip top pricing. I'm sure a deal can be done in this weather...

That said, if the lotus kit was bought for significantly less, then it's not really a comparison.

Yea the kit was bought for a lot less! I dont really want to spend that kind of money on the run up to christmas, especially whe the girlfriend has expensive tastes :blackeye .

Craig, still in peices, will hopefully get it put back together tonight and turn the engine over a few times. Oh reminded me that i need to get coolant today!

Never got round to updating this thread so here is some pics-

Got the head back, all 16 shims were wrong size, all changed, some porting has been done to the head.

Image

New Payen head gasket fitted.

Image

Head fitted with new bolts

Image

Image

New painted cam cover, piper cambelt, NGK plugs, mobil1 oil, tensioner, coolant and voila...

Image

The leads were fcked so bought some red magnecor ones.
Took a few turns over by hand then started after a few turns with the throttle fully open (and the injectors plugged in  )

Now all I need is Tax and MOT :thumbsup
