Might take a look mate - if it's a PG1. Metro GTi had a 16V 1.4 K series, or was it an 8V?

Looks like the other option gearbox wise is coming off - just need to find that 15 tooth layshaft now.

Seller's email has stopped rejecting mails this morning, so will give him till tonight to respond, before going through the Paypal reclaim procedure.

Just heard back from original seller too - no hassles, will be getting sorted out. Should all work out fine - he's even going to fire across the right output shaft with the 4.2 final drive... Hopefully coming together now.

Okay - other gearbox confirmed and should be on it's way. 4.2 final drive should be on it's way...

Hopefully this weekend will see some progress - Oh and this gearbox has a special surprise!

I think a spool would result in mega understeer in an elise followed quickly by a hedge

Just started reading this thread. If I read it sooner I could have saved you a bunch of bother as I have a 4.2 final drive kit in the garage, I think, somewhere  . Give me a shout if you need it and I will dig it out. Also have 2 gearboxes if any one else is interested in doing this.

I've got a spare standard gearbox in the garage doing nothing..... do you have the bits required to convert it to a CR one then?? If so, I could be interested.... :thumbsup

Cheers,

Dave.
