Maye extra drag rather than weight... (big parachute thing stuck on the engine cover).

Craig, that only works out at either side of 20mpg, which for general road work is pretty low.

I am getting around 30, but only 10 on track.

ps however just read that you have been hoofing it for the fun.

Potential urban myth here...

I heard there isn't much point brimming it / filling past the first click as the fuel heads out the overflow and evaporates, so I never fill past the first click.

My s1 is an odd device. I get 35-40 on the daily commute, but have seen closer to 45 on a spirited country road drive. S'pose it doesn't like the start/stop of morning traffic.

Will try to remember to work out track mileage tonight actually, just out of interest.

S1 with wild cams, TB's and ported head still gives 200-250 on a gentle run. Hoofing it that drops to about 100 maybe less.

S2 Exige between 220-240 everyday driving and 140 on a fun run.

Constant 80 tuts and that's what I got. Jinty got the same mileage from a smaller tank/less fuel in her old 111s.

Now you sir are an economy GOD. I have long hoped for that magic 400-miler but never had the opportunity or driving conditions for long enough to attempt it!!

Think my best so far (broadly std S1) has been about 360. Your 400 miles on say 35 litres is essentially 50mpg. Surely there was a lot of pootling at 50-60 involved?

I can definitely achieve 45mpg on steady m-way driving, ie about 350 miles from the tank, and 40 is my usual commute-led number (cold start with 3 miles through town to m-way for a further 12 or so), I posted about 34 with "spirited" driving to o5o7o9 and 38 with not much less spirited driving on the way home, must've been downhill coming back

300-ish seems to be a common number when I reset the trip every couple of months or so at the gas station!

Chargers are going to take a lot off those numbers, as of course do CR boxes. But on a light throttle the std S1 fairly whispers its way along and in these straitened times you can hardly argue with that.

Oh and as with Ali's old S2, I don't think I could get my S1 below 22mpg or so on track either. And I drive like a granny compared to him...

It was really sh*t weather when I managed the 400 so I was driving along at 50-60 just taking my time, although I won't get that now I have fitted the cams, head and zorst
