i think if you brake properly, then MMC's wont last anymore than short sessions on track.

I must admit, i was considering them for next years racing, but not convinced they will last 20 minutes with the honda.

I'm pretty sure you'd kill them in 3 laps Neil.

For normal road use you could make your own pads out of wood ;-)

Assuming you are on steel discs ...

I think just about any pad will do you for road use. If you plan on changing them yourself then this is true for sure; if you pay a garage to do it for you, then longevity of the pad has to be considered, and at that point I would look at mintex 1144, sbs (don't know designation for these, but there is only one compound for Elise-shape pads I think) or pagids 4-2. The pagids are king, but overkill for road only use, so I would recommend the 1144's I think.

My concern with EBC greens from way back when I last used them was how harsh they were on the discs; given that discs are not cheap and are more effort to change than pads, it makes sense to compromise on pad price to avoid heavy disc wear, I think ...

I've got Green stuff pads and they ar IMO better than the OEMs the car came with.

I also changed the disks to "mutts nuts discs" from Stu (160)
Green Subaru Impreza Turbo, a 'classic'.

what if you need to stamp on them after 9-14 minutes though? then your fcuk. M BENZ system apply's the brakes lightly every 15 seconds i believe.

There are some other patents that they have not reverse engineered yet. Namley reading the road etc as opposed to radar based braking, white line sensing buzzing seats, buzzing ear piece for falling asleep but I do like the IR HUD for night time driving.
