He's not got long for this world now - but I'll pass on that he's got a fan.
Garage will be open from around noon till 5 if your passing.

That will be a rover K-series engine then, not the toyota engine.elise1970 wrote:it's a 2001/ 01....think so......
In that case your exhaust may well be rubbing on the undertray - I would remove the undertray and see whether the rattle goes away, then work out what the rattle is when you refit the undertray if you see what I mean.

Well, the plot thickens....car had fab B&C exhaust fitted yesterday and had all potential rattle causes checked...hand brake, gear selector, loose panels etc etc and the guy couldn't find anything.
The guy who did the exhaust used to work for Lotus/ Rolls Royce and really knows his stuff.
He couldn't get the car to "rattle" so off i went today for a run into Edinburgh/ Lothians.....about 2 hrs later the rattle is back with a vengence!
(Even exhaust didn't cover it!)
Coming from the rear driver side so when I got home I did the "suspension bounce" test on that side...and sure enough, the rattle was there!
Does this mean my spring is f...knackered? Will I need to replace both?
Advice for the dumb ass newbie appreciated...as always!

Does it only happen when it's hot? Sounds like the dried out toe-link thing.
There's a thread on it somewhere...
edit:
here it is

My toe links seem fine, it's a definate rattle on mine not a clonk. sounds like something is loose. Something was loose, an undertray bolt, but it's still there.
I check them periodically due to toe link failure paranoia....
