I have been very impressed with the AD08's on my Clio, good compromise between road and track, also found them to be pretty impressive in the wet! :thumbsup

(that's why I think Mike will do fine, that and his lack of imagination).

This post is a bit cryptic. I have the standard ad07 175/55r15 on the front of my 111R, and looking to prevent the understeer. Can you safely fit the 195/50r15s AD08s on the 5.5" rim, and would this help?

Hmm, not quite right, standard Elise s2 front wheels are 5.5" rims and 16" fronts so you can't get a 195 16inch size AD08, you can get a 205 AD08 but it won't fit standard wheels. I dont think a 195 is recommended for a 5.5" rim either even if you could get one.

As per this reply

I am told they are the same compound and look almost identical, so front AD07's and rear AD08's looked sensible when I was researching.
If you want to use another manufacturers 195 tyre or 205 AD08 you need to buy Exige wheels or aftermarket, Exige wheels are 6" or 6.5" the spider ones come up for sale fairly regularly. Agree it is complicated and very limiting.

We used to change the standard 185 S1 tyres to 195's and the rear 205's to 225's so that was quite an increase, and that worked OK.

I am sure the early S2 guys used to fit 195's on the standard front wheels.

I think you can get some 195's on the 5.5" rim but not 205's. Usually you need the 50 profile 195 though and not a 45 profile. And I think all you get in that size is the semi slicks.

Are your fronts not 175/55/16 Ryan? Or have you fitted different wheels?

Yea thats was a typo then kept going. 175/55/16 on the front, and thinking about fitting 195/50/16. My mistake. I defo have 5.5" rims. When looking online at 195/50/16s it said rim range 5.5 to 7, but 1) never trust everything on the internet 2) thats obv the extremes which might not necisaraly be an improvement.

I WOULD SUGGEST THE AD07'S FROM RONNIE AT WHEELSAROUND KNOCKHILL. I WAS ABOUT THE NOT FAR OFF YOUR MURRAYS PRICE FOR ALL FOUR.. FITTED...

I TRIED AND FAILED WITH THE AD08'S, CANT GET IN THE SMALLER SIZE FOR THE ELISE IF YOU STICK WITH STANDARD SIZES.

SORRY USING CAD, NOT SHOUTING...
