Tuts car is not really representative of a stock Honda conversion. It's more of a ballistic missile. Don't use it as a reference...

They will be fine, I prefer them for road/track use, they are just a bit less compliant on the road.

Soak every nut you plan to take off the car in WD 40 tonight.

The dampers don't go on the way up that you might expect.

Started on front offside today I have a question around the new quantum top mount, as you can see in the picture it appears to be slightly twisted towards the front is this normal as it looks out of line from the bottom mount ?? The new Ertacetal bushes are wider than originals removed as they sit proud of the wishbone as opposed to flush so shimming is slightly different planning on sorting out during alignment any tips does this sound right ? Also do you think I need to use the snubber washer ?

Unplanned purchase required for wheel bearings as it feels rough any tips for changing these are Elise parts the best place to get from ?

As always any pointers are appreciated

I think it's the top mount bracket that's making it twist, not the quantum - did you buy new brackets?

It's important to tighten up the wishbones at the natural ride height angle - so that probably means fitting the hub, then lowering onto an axle stand underneath the bottom balljoint, then tightening up the wishbone bolts.

I am surprised they are different lengths than the OEM bushes - but I don't know whether it matters and what you should do about it. The washers are there both for mechanical reasons (presumably to clamp the bush) and also for alignment reasons - shuffling washers fore/aft on the various mounts will affect your castor angles.

Cheers,
Robin

P.S. If you did buy new brackets, is it possible they are handed and that you have the left and right swapped over?

Yes I did get new mounts they do appear to be handed but will only fit individually to one side otherwise they clash with the chassis. Certainly looks strange though ?

I have been informed that you have it right and that is the way it is supposed to be so you can leave alone and don't worry about it :-) :-)

Excellent news was certainly an odd looking arrangement
