Sure Paul won't mind me putting this in here but If anybody is still considering the swap and is looking for a well spec'd drivetrain, drop me a pm.

Good summary Paul. Glad the stream of "bread n butter" conversions is still there to tackle.

Glad you felt able to share the experience - good and bad! - with the SE masseev.

Loved this thread and marvelled at the solutions you devised to the various problems as they presented themselves. Hats off to you sir. :cheers

Well thought I'd put up a little update.

Paul sent me a lambda sensor, got it fitted the day before I had to go away with work, so never got to take it out on the road. I got back on Friday so I've been using it to and from work. The torque and the sound :love :love :love :love

It drives really well, but it's in desperate need of a geo check, which I need to pull my finger out and got sorted.

I'm hoping to make the SIDC day in march, but got a feeling work might get in the way, so cant commit just now.

Hi Bob,

The cars going great, only had a couple of minor issues, which are really only service items, ie driveshaft boot split. I've had a reoccurring problem were it limits the power occasionally when the RPM hits approx 4500rpm, usually when I accelerate hard. It took me a wee while to find out what was causing it. Eventually found an answer on an American forum, it was due to a dirty MAF sensor, once cleaned it was back to normal. I've ordered a new air filter which I hope helps matters.

I did think about selling it this year due to our first baby arriving in October, but keep changing my kind due to having no idea how to price it, so decided to keep it for now :thumbsup
