No problems with leather Stewart, along with blue and ali tis what an Elise is all about as long as it does not add weight.

Alan is going to end up with one hell of an S1, most of it returning the chassis components to their original condition or better, and also tastefully converting the interior to his own taste. I look forward to seeing the finished product.

Thanks for compliments.

It was my intention from the start was to simply have a clean, fast Elise. I have always liked my S1 for its light weight etc but some things like the interior etc are bit hard to live with. Hopefully i have the best of both worlds now.

Look forward to getting the car on the road and would be good to meet a few of you for a run.

 did speed read through......

I figured Alan would have paid a huge price for the whole lot, and couldn't see anywhere that gave prices for seats only...

\edited to add, do you mean ask/go through B&C? I'd prob want to go through somewhere more local (where I could borrow a spare seat while mine was getting done.
Hi Tim,

It is £75 extra on top of an original seat re trim. Sorry, should have been clearer.

Which brings it to £310 a Seat ......

I don't use MMC parts department anymore as they can't do anything correctly or on time. B & C delivered them to me in one day.

I had a wee shot sitting in them last night, and Oh My God they're comfy! I didnt want to get out of them!! Definately worth the money as the quality is first class and the detail is beautiful!! Im just about to wrap it all up and store it away before the cat gets her sharp little claws into the leather, can you imagine how pi55ed Alan would be if she did?! Cat no more!! :damnfunny Cant wait for the car to come back from the painter. Been Lotusless for 10 months now........

Thought i should update this post with the latest Info.

Took car off painter to give to a Local Shop (CastlePark Autobody) after 3 months of sitting in a workshop un covered. Quoted me £1800 for the whole car in Burnt Orange which is £600 more than before but you get what you pay for. Car is booked to be started on the 7th September and will take them one week to complete.

Here is a pic of the car after a few washes, depresses the life out of me.

Isn't progress wonderfull.

Took a trip to the painters today to view the progress and take a few pictures. First, the quality of the Job is excellent. All of the inner parts are painted and the car itself (Sill) was getting painted when i was there so sadly no pics of that. Only trouble is they are running out of paint, 5 L of Burnt Orange nearly used up  so i have to buy another 2.5 L from my supplier (Well over £600 for 5l and thats what i payed............Honest :D ).

Car was meant to be returned to me this week but with this little snag it will be early next week but Who cares its Orange !, well some of it.

Cheers
Alan

EDIT : Looking at the pictures and asking myself How can I track this !.......... Set out to build a trackable car, Epic Fail. :?

Looks fantastic Alan, that's what you call orange.

ps Mike was here all day today but is back tomorrow as he did not get finished and needs his ball joint splitter. Had a funny with the CV joint as the driveshaft was too long, as for some reason the tripod bearings had not slotted into the grooves when you reassembled it. No prob as he just took the band off and relocated.

They were in ! :D
Easily knocked out as you assemble the suspension though. Mine came out twice when I was building mine, usually becuase I left it hanging without the hubs on (Until the hubs are on nothing holds those bearings in, especially on yours as your driveshafts dont have grooves for the cv gators).

Cheers
