Thanks JJ, I have not seen it yet on the TD's so am glad to hear it looks good. The install is very stealthy which i like although Dan is not happy about a few items of the install it all looked very neat from my point of view. Will have a look at the engine cover. :thumbsup

All the engine cover shut lines looked ok to me when I refitted it. The only thing was that it seemed to be sitting a little low at the top on the hinges but I didn't have any extra shims to pack it out, just the ones I took out. :?

If its not right I'll sort it. :thumbsup

As a matter of interest, are there any differerences between the standarrd N/A 2ZZ engine and those fitted to factory supercharged models? I've been told that the oil and/or water pumps are different (larger) on original fit supercharged engines.

No, they are completely standard engines.

Spoke to JJ and he said je might have come out of alignment when getting transported up. not to worry will get this sorted. been driving the car a lot over the last week and been loving it. I know this is quite wrong but think maybe i should have gone a step further and gone for 280-bhp

Fancy trying to add the vision function kit?

i was reading up on the bwr kits...there is some scary stuff written on monkeytuners...couple of folk losing compression and the engines going pop. They said there were also issues surrounding the alternator which i believe have been rectified.
Also they talked about the ecu tune being the problem...they kept talking about a company i think it was called pes....saying the mixture ended up running to rich and and damaged the valves and rings....i dont have an engineering background so just trying to make sense of all thats been written as im keen to go down this route.Who does the ecu tunes/remaps for the bwr kits in the uk?

folk keep talking about reducing the compression ratio of the std engines with different pistons etc thus making the engines more suitable for forced induction. Obviously this would require a partial engine rebuild. Again not having an engineering background am i right in saying that reducing the compression ratio would allow one to run higher psi and increase engine life??? If this is the case isnt it far cheaper to get a custom decompression plate made thus reducing the compression ratio without an expensive partial engine rebuild??

hope i havnt hijacked the thread...im just keen to go down the f/induction route and it would seem the bwr kit gives the most bang for your buck as it would provide in the region of 250-260 bhp.

Some engines need the C/R reduced for reliability when charged, The K series for one where I believe that T/T took it down to 8.5.

However if the Toyota engine is similar to the Honda then it can stay the same. I have the JDM engine which is a higher C/R than the UK engine, but it still seems bullet proof when S/C up to 9lbs, and many take it to above that.

I did try to read into it as much as possible, and the consensus seamed to be that the CharlieX tune (as used on the Katana kit) was far superior to the PES tune so i went with this option. Don't know much about compresion ratios etc, but all i can say is my car feels very healthy :D

Well this should be interesting! Have decided to take the exige to the next stage, the temptation to go down the Vision function route is just to hard to resist.

The stage 2 kit they do gives massive gains and will certainly make the Exige fun, as if it wasn't already

Here is a bit of a write up on the kit http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/f160/vi ... vf2-68918/

Lol! I read this before your PM!

Good lad! :thumbsup

No point in doing things by half. If it isn't scaring you driving it round in these conditions it obviously isn't fast enough.

I'm lost reading the write up about it. Is this kit only for N/A Exige's or can it be bought to upgrade if you already have and S version?
