Shameless plug for tyre fitting, balancing and alignment

CLCM, Bankhead Drive, Sighthill - 0131-458 5559 - ask for Willie.

Dropped the Golf in today with suspect lost wheel weight. Just £9 later for two wheel balances, the car is perfect again (fronts were "a long way out").

Been going to CLCM on and off for a few years, had generally switched to Jim Dickson in Cumbernauld due to keen Toyo pricing, but it's a bit of a trek and last couple of balances have been poor. Also forgot to order our tyres last time, Lisa trailed all the way through with the sproglets to discover no-go. Hurrumph.

So welcome back Willie, all is forgiven. He can't generally supply Toyos, by the way, but recommends mytyres.net if you want some (largest wholesaler in Europe?) and he'll fit em. And I can vouch for Mytyres, their prices are pretty good. All you need to do is drop the tyres off at CLCM - with the car! - small price to pay for a quality job.

He does do geo, but you need to know what you want and how you want it done - i.e. with weights in the car/with driver in the car/what settings. You also need to understand just a little about what you're asking for as usually the geo requires some compromises (especially if you don't supply a pack of various shims to set the camber just-so).

Cheers,
Robin

I believe MMC use/used him as they didn't have the necessary equipment in house.

Willy is brilliant - a guy who charges far too little for giving up so much of his time!

Probably good advice, but from my point of view......I'm a complete simpleton and i went to Willie and said could he set up my new exige set up (no adjustment but it rides a bit higher than std on the front). He asked how long i'd had the car, what i used it for etc.

He then set it up with no more input from me. A while later he finshed and told me that he'd dialled out some of the understeer to make it more neutral and if i didnt like it i could come back and change it back no probs.

Gets a big thumbs up from me.

Impressive. That's just what we need.

Lisa loves him too - he's great with the kids when she treks in with them to retrieve our car!
