which oil and can i mix ?

dont need it yet but would like to get some to top up when required.

can i mix oils ?

cannot remember what MMC said to use.

well, something... erm .... ANYTHING is better than nothing in the oil stakes

Best to stick with the same kind that the car was filled with, but if needs be any reasonable 5w40 / 15w-50 semi or fully synth will be ok in emergencies.

Best bet is to get an extra litre when you're changing it next and keep it in the boot though
