how come the heating...
This morning with it being cold and me being lazy, I started the car and left it so the windows would defrost.
But when i came out 10mins later the heat was still cold but the temp gauge read 96?
Is this cos the radiators are at the front of the car and needs air flow to blow hot air?

TOO FAST TO LIVE TOO YOUNG TO DIE!!!
I thought the heater circuit was inside the thermostat loop? (As in not in the rad circuit IYSWIM) So it should get up to temp quickly with the thermostat shut?
Airlock in the heater matrix? S2 heater are sh!t? I have to turn mine down as it burns your legs. My heater is so good that to ensure it has a proper challenge it mists up the screen properly, before attempting to demist it

I just jump in mine, put the fan on full, set to windscreen, hot, and push the the A/C button and drive away. The screen is completely demisted by the time I'm at the bottom of the road, 200yds away.
As for getting frost off, I take down a volvic bottle of mildly warm tap water with a bit of cold in it, pour on the windscreen and wipe off with one swish of the wiper. I'm in and away in less than a minute.
I HATE hanging around in the morning. Time wasted defrosting/demisting a car is time I could have spent in bed.
