Due to lack of use over last few weeks/Xmas, the battery on my 111r was low and not turning engine, so I had to jump start with jump leads (and I am 100% confident I did connect them properly). The jump start went fine, and the car started immediately, however when I got back in the car the digital mileage was spinning round and rattled up (in literally seconds) from 33K to 281K (before I turned off engine). Now when the engine is off the rev counter and speedo needles sit at max position on dials and when I turn the engine on the needles spin around anti-clockwise to 0, ..then work fine when driving. Immediately I turn the engine off again the needles spin clockwise to sit back at max position on the two dials again.
SO ..I now have a car which has over night gone from 33K miles to 281K miles

and the needles sit at max on the dials when engine switched off and spin anticlockwise back to 0 when engine turned on? Any ideas to fix please (or do I need MMC to look at)?

Eek - can that happen to any Elise through jump starting, or is it a 111R specific issue?

That's a bummer. It has almost caught up with the mileage on N1 TUT.
Unfortunately Ali is probably correct, but take your time before making a decision, new ones are a stupid price, but they are available from breakers yards and eBay.
However I believe that you would have to go with the mileage that was on the clock.

Bummer
In a similar vein my shift light is knackered- constantly blinks as if the immobiliser is armed. Advice I got was that this too was likely caused by a jump start, and that there's no fix other than a new stack like Ali says.....
Hang on...I had to jump start mine again today (hurries off to check mileage)
(Btw if you tell MMC the new mileage that's about twenty grand for all the services you'll need

)
Hope there is a fix?

Mine was doing similar the other day. Much head scratching later and I found the section in the manual that told me it was in valet mode - whatever that is?? Arming then disarming the alarm seemed to put it back to normal

You can reset the behaviour of the dials using the drivers door open, ignition on, engine off, press and hold the trip reset button until the stack shows it's version number on the fuel gauge bit. Not 100% that still applies to the latest cars ...
Only stack can reset the odo properly; I don't think that clocking it will work, I suspect it will just sit at 999999 or whatever.
Cheers,
Robin

I told you not to try to wind the mileage back

Was Kirsteen involved in the jump start?

I think it'll need a new Stack as my old car had a problem with the Stack as well...
It resets you back to 0 miles however I know this can be changed (wound forward and legally...!)

Gulp , ..it sounds like I should try Robin's suggestion to rectify the needles then get a quote for a new Stack or perhaps contact Stack.
Thanks for the guidance so far.
Any idea how much a new Stack is

A new stack is almost 4 figures. They sell on ebay for £150ish though.
See here - this place is in Hillington and told me they can re-program the shurlock dash -
