Removing headlamp Covers?

Post by Brigita » Thu Jan 03, 2008 10:13 am

Happy new year guys! That's me just back online!

I'm wondering if anyone can help me suss out how to remove the headlamp cover so i can replace the main beam bulb?

I've read the manual and it says to remove it from under the wheel arch but it looks a bit trickier than i though it'd be......

:? :D

The covers are bonded on, wheel arch has an access hatch. Even Ed managed to change the lamps on his Exiege on his own with only minimal super vision.

Sounds like you have found the right piece to take off Briggy. It is one of those things that is easier the second time. You have PM.

I'm having a mini spanner session tomorrow, I'm sure that someone will offer assistance with tight nuts.

Thanks though Mac!

Headlamp replacement

Post by G-Man » Tue Jan 15, 2008 3:33 pm

Hi, I need to replace a headlamp bulb too.

Is this the same procedure for an S2 Exige? Mine is 05 model.

I've got under the wheel arch and taken off the wheel arch liner.

There doesn't seem to be an 'access hatch' but a plastic/fibre glass shell for the lights and bolts attaching them. The light shell/mount doesn't budge after loosening bolts, it seems to be fixed, therefore I'm thinking the lights are accessed from the front, but fixed/bolted from the back(under wheel arch).

Is this right??

:?

cheers

removing headlamp cover

Post by G-Man » Tue Jan 15, 2008 5:39 pm

thanks very much for that link, I went through all of those steps but the whole thing seemed stuck in place, maybe it just needed a bit of persuasion. I didn't want to be too heavy handed because I wasn't 100% sure I was doing it right.

I'll try it again tonight.

Cheers

G
