For some reason the engine temperature on my Jag (according to the gauge) only seem to come out of the blue when sitting still or in traffic and even then it takes ages to get into the 'normal' range. As soon as I drive for more than a few minutes it goes back down almost as far as it can into cold.
Any thoughts? something I should worry about?

Re: Engine temp on my Jag.........
Sounds like a bust thermostat - it's just cooling all the time, not maintaining temp. Running too cool will be chewing fuel and can't be great for it...

Yeah, you should get at least 18 out of an XJ6

I use to manage a fleet including 4 XJ6s and 2 XJ8s. Love the cars... but they are thirsty buggers. MPG into single figures if you try hard enoughDavid Bryce wrote:thought as much thanks, will get my friendly mobile mechanic to replace it and hopefully my MPG will improve from an average of 17
17 - 23 mpg is about average.
