Scottish Elises

Got a new set of A039s on, and they are giving slight vibration from 70ish up. Tyre fitter (Westhill Service Stn) is very good, he had a second attempt at balancing today. The machine says they are spot on but I'm still getting slight vibration. Anyone with similar experience of this? Could it be tread pattern or a slightly less than circular tyre? It doesn't seem to be consistent on all surfaces, on rougher tarmac vibration goes away. Car has not been sitting stationary long so I don't think a flat spot could have developed. I'm sure I've heard that trackday tyres can be a problem to balance sometimes but previous sets (48s and R888s) I've had on have been fine.

I sometimes feel asthough my wheel has a slight vibration, was gonna make a post about it the other day . Sometimes Its there sometimes not , makes me wonder if its just the fact you can feel every single little bump on the road , due to the accuracy/feel of the car .

Can anyone shed anymore light on this ?

I had something like this a while back. steering wheel vibrated above 60mph.

turned out to be an off axis buckle in a front wheel.
found out by jacking car up, releasing brake (careful!) and spinning wheel with hand, noticed the wheel rim moved in and out with each rotation.
had to buy a new wheel in the end as this cannot be fixed.

The wheel buckle would be a concern, but pretty sure it is not the issue for me - you need to hit something (like a large rock) hard to do that (as I found out with my trusty 535i). My problem is defo tyre related, fine with the last set of 888s, a tad off with the new A039s, not so much as a minor pothole incident in between.

Try getting them re-balanced somewhere else - I've seen 48s taking 2 or 3 goes before. Dunny why they should be, but it seems they can be tricky.

May have another balancing attempt tomorrow since Wheelsaround will be at the TrackScotland event at KH. I also have a sneaking suspicion that one of the A039s may be fashioned along the lines of a 20p piece. Maybe should run a bit more pressure (i.e. book 29 psi) on trip down to KH to see if it becomes perfectly round again.
