My s1 to s2 suspender upgrade came today, changed this morning, test drive this afternoon
WOW what a difference the car just felt planted all the time totally different car now. Can now hit potholes without feeling that the car is going to snap in half.
By the way bell and colvill have the kit on offer only £450 inc vat and delivery.

Give it a (long) while an you'll get so used to em they'll start to feel like the konis again! Almost. Plus now your ears don't have to listen to the Konis they'll find loads more things to hear

Soz I feel like I'm raining on ur parade, maybe it's cause I've had a long day and I've got so much to get done on my car... with summer just round the corner! I can't bare hearing someone feeling this happy about their car

I'll help you, I hopped in mine this morning to head down to Ali to get the head sorted out, turns out my HGF fears were concreted once i'd driver about 4 or 5 miles and a huge plume of steam covered most of the Kingsway

Pulled the car over, then spent about an hour trying to work out the easiest/cheapest way to get it to Edinburger. A few hours later, and a trip to Fife approx 5 foot from the back of my girlfriends Audi (via rigid towing bar) I was there.

80 miles in an Elise with only 5 foot and a bar barely even an inch thick separating you from the car in front is not the least stressful way to spend your afternoon !

did you use the standard towing eye? i need to get my car to ali's, bout 40 miles, but i wasn't sure if its a good idea. didn't think it looked that strong. also was kinda worried that a big jerk might damage the chassis.

Yup, standard Elise towing eye held up, although Ali was a bit doubtful as he says he'd seen a few of the vertical posts that the eye screws into braking in the middle, I just braved it...

Took it easy 40-45mph max and very minimal breaking in the Elise, the rigid bar thing was scary as heck but really effective! My dad was the tow car driver, basically he pulled away fairly slowly and slowed down without the brakes as much possible to reduce the jerking...

Hoping the chassis is ok on mine...

Chassis wont' be damaged - worst you can do is rip the tow bar out of the crash structure (for that is what it's bolted into) I'd imagine a bodge fix of that part (plates or something) wouldn't then be an issue as the crash absorption properties are in the sides of the structure and the rad core.

Ironically nxy had to arrange a "bodge fix" of his towing eye bracket just after he got the car. Nice result though, amazing what you can do with access to a good machine shop at your work

My car is half way through its transformation. But its cost me a tiny bit more tha £450

So far I've:

-Had the arms powder coated.
-Fitted poly bushes.
-Fitted new ball joints (all round)
-Fitted new wheel bearings (all round)
-Fitted new track rod ends.

I'm still:

-Waiting on my uprated toe links to arrive.
-Waiting on my 2007 Exige anti roll bar to arrive (don't know if its any stiffer than my standard one or if it will even fit, but its in better nic than my one)

I still need to:

-Buy new sticky tyres.
-Buy new brakes (disks, pads & braided hoses)
-Get a geo set up.
-Get a new MOT (anyone lend me a cat?)
-Get tax

All that started from needing 1 new front wheel bearing, nothing else!...I think I got a bit carried away Never mind, I'm sure it will be worth it. I just hope my engine doesn't blow up after all this.
