Hi
Have posted similar in general chat.
Someone told me a fix for this is a pair of tights, over the inlet pipe?
Where would i find the inlet pipe to fix these tights over?

111R or rover engined? (have no idea if there is a difference, but I assume the servo on the R will make it more difficult to get to - or not

)
In a rover engined car, you'll see a big silver pipe when you take off the front service panels. Buried down in there. Take this off and stretch the tights over the bit it goes on (it's only a push fit) Then they act as a bit of a dust filter, although they do cut the volume of air. Very important to take it off from time to time and clean out the crap.

Hi Shug
Its a 111R, when you talk about service panels do you mean the panels that cover the radiator?
Forgive my ignorance.

Yup, that's the panels. In all honesty, I've never dug about in them on a 111R, but if you can see a large bore silver hose (like a tumble dryer hose, almost) you should be able to do the above. If not, it's getting some filters on the intakes, as shown on one of the many other threads on which you've posed this question
Seem to remember seeing them somewhere, whether it was Eliseparts.com, elise-shop.com or somewhere else, I can't work out...

If my memory serves me correctly, I don't think you can get anywhere near this on an R (or Exige). The VX boys did this to theirs and Jon/Craig were showing me how to do it . . . when we took the panel off, the servo was in the way and there's now way we could get to the pipe we needed to cover.
Let me know if you do manage to do it, but I just don't think it's accessible.

OK took these pics with the passenger side panel off,
As I have no knowledge of cars I need to know if this pipe is the feed for the air vents, to me it looks like it.
If so I reckon I could stretch some tights over it in order to cut down the dust etc
bottom
Top, where the pipe meets the dash?

Another option is to 'cover' the two small grills behind the front grill. I stuck some air filter material over them and never had the dust problem again.
That's if the 111R is the same as the older S2's.

Yeah that would be an option but I need someone to tell me if they are the same as I certainly dont know

Pics look like the right pipe - so if you can pop it off you can try the tights trick.
