Post by Jamie84 » Sat Mar 22, 2008 10:57 am

Oil is topped up correctly , engine sounds rrrreeeeally tappety and horrible (more than normal but too extreme to think its more of major problem)

Pop over and compare?
I've been told mine is normal....just the lack of sound deadening!

TADTs?
Cold? Oil will take some time to fill the lifters (tappets) properly and should quieten it down when hot and thin. You should hear my Rover VVC if you want tappetty!

I wouldn't say tappety but I was really aware of it on both the elise (which is worse than the exige) and then the exige when I first got them.
Gimmie a shout if you're still worried!

:damnfunny I have to say I think I know what you mean on this one as well..

If you can hear it from outside the car (i.e standing over the rear wheel and listening) then yeah mine does this, but can't hear anything inside unless its extremely cold and i've not got any music on - and that's only at start up obv..
