Can anyone recommend anything (other than back to black) that will disguise my faded grills!!!

I bought Hammerite for the rear (metal) grills but I'm just not sure about the front plastic ones!

Any ideas would be great!!!

:thumbsup :D

Silver ? or chrome ? :P

I fancy a silver "egg box" style grill on my S1

LOL - it's just the front (black) plastic grills and bonnet vents i need to do now.... They're just totally faded (grey looking) from the sun!

can't remember what its called exactly, but Megulars make a plastic protectant that will do this - they do both interior and exterior ones.

i used it for bits of the Atom

Brig, there an Auto-Glym one in Halfords that works a treat on the black plastic bits - even leaves a water-resistant sheen, to help keep them clean.

Yep, Briggy, that stuff's the best I've tried, and I've tried quite a few. I use Poorboy's Natural Look now on the Exige's windscreen surround and black rubber seals, etc., but the autoglymn stuff was definitely best for the black vents on the Elise. It's about £6 or thereabouts from Halfrauds. :thumbsup

I tried this on a previous car (MG) and it did actually work. Not sure it was as good as the stuff you buy for that specific job, but apparantly the natural oils in the peanuts are good for making the plastic black again. Also, I wouldn't fancy Auto-Glym on my toast...
