New pads

Post by Matelotman » Sat Apr 12, 2008 3:03 am

Just fitted new "greenstuffs" and Goodridge braided hoses tonight - definitely more feeling in the brakes but I don't really notice any great difference in stopping power compared to the Lotus fit AP's (maybe pads need longer to bed in??). Finished fitting at 2330 and went for a quick test drive (roof off, nice night with dry(ish) roads).... got back at 0220 - oops :D .

I've read mixed reviews on the greenstuffs and I can't justify fitting pagids etc - anyone particularly like or dislike the greenstuffs as a road pad?

I've used them for years. Would go to Pagids tomorrow, but can't justify the extra cost when there's not much that is better than the Shugmobile on the brakes at KH. They are numb when cold and they do get some bite when they get hot - fine if you get used to it. I'd certainly not say there's much in it between them and the standard fit pads when they are cold, but they are just fine when you get some heat in them.

Greenstuff are fine for road and track....they do wear a bit more on hard use .but clean ,quiet and cheapness
Mintex 1144's are harder but tend to squeal like VBH :cheers
