Can anyone help?

The aluminium cups at the top and bottom of (all of) my dampers have started to crumble. But the actual dampers look fine. According to Ali there was a recent bulletin released from Lotus that stated that it was now possible to buy the cups seperate from the dampers (saving a lot of money).

Ali and I have called MMC a few times to get clarity (and order them) but they have not got back.

Can anyone let me know if you have heard of the cups being sold seperately, and if you have the parts number or details of the bulletin. Long shot I know, but here's hoping.

...I will continue to chase MMC in the interim.

odd responding to own post, but some late night internet searching and help from Kirk at MMT turned this up.

The upper and lower spring retaining collars on the Bilstein shocks, fitted to the S2 Elise, suffer badly from corrosion. The collars can be purchased separately which saves having to buy replacement shocks:

Damper collar replacement kit - Lotus Part Number: A120C6003S (1 kit required per damper - includes upper and lower spring retaining collar and a new circlip, that retains the upper collar) £15.77 +vat

The material composition of replacement collars include a silicone content but additional protection can be obtained using acf 50 (for floor pan corrosion)A117A0239S £11.71 +vat.

So four kits been ordered and can close this post off now !
